just as it invokes his most holy name. It adores the incarnate Word and his Heart which, out of love for men, he allowed to be pierced by our sins. Christian prayer loves to follow the way of the cross in the Savior’s steps.– From the Catechism. Chaplet of the Sacred heart of Jesus
In the name of the father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.
Anima Christi prayer on the cross.
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds, hide me.
Never let me be separated from you.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of death, call me; and bid me come to you.
That with your saints I may praise you forever and ever.
Amen.
On the Our Father beads pray
“Eternal father I offer You the merits of the most precious blood of Jesus
in atonement for my sins, in supplication for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, and for the needs of the holy church”
On the Hail Mary beads pray.
“Jesus meek and humble of heart make my heart like unto your heart.”
At the end of each 10 beads once done you say,”
Sweet heart of Mary be my salvation”
Repeat until finished,
on the medal you pray the
Golden Arrow prayer.
May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable,
most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God
be always praised, blessed, loved, adored
and glorified in Heaven, on earth,
and under the earth,
by all the creatures of God,
and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
